What does Vestige preserve?

Who can see my memories, and how does privacy work?

Accepted Answer

Sealed memories are encrypted before they leave your device. They are not a public feed, and a recipient cannot browse your vault. A person sees only the memories you deliberately share with them through Vestige, when the release rule allows them to open one.

How do I share a memory with someone now?

Accepted Answer

Create the memory, choose the person it was meant for, and send it through the named-recipient share flow. They receive an invitation to open that memory; they do not receive access to the rest of your vault.

How do I seal a memory for later?

Accepted Answer

When you save a memory, choose a release rule instead of sending it immediately. Depending on the memory, that can be a date, a milestone, or a later request. You can review a sealed memory and adjust its rule or recipient while it is still closed; once it has opened, it belongs to the recipient to keep.

Is Vestige inheritance, or is it recipient access?

Vestige provides recipient access to specific memories; it is not a will, probate service, or legal transfer of your estate. Naming a recipient means they may open the memories you assigned to them when the release conditions are met. It does not make them the owner of your vault or give them access to memories you did not share.

Who can open what I have sealed?

Accepted Answer

Only the named recipient can open a memory released to them through Vestige. A trusted verifier may confirm the release event when a posthumous rule calls for it, but that confirmation does not give the verifier access to the memory. Each recipient sees only the pieces assigned to them.

What happens to a vault after the owner dies?

Accepted Answer

Vestige does not infer death from inactivity or automatically open an entire vault. A named successor must submit an attestation and limited reference metadata for manual review. If approved, and if the customer has the $999 Lifetime Access entitlement, Vestige may release only retained, unreleased, non-medical memories as expiring one-time links. This is not a legal determination of ownership.

Does naming a successor make them my legal beneficiary?

No. A successor designation is revocable product guidance, not a will or legal beneficiary transfer. It gives the named person no current access, owner-level permissions, or proof of entitlement. Vestige uses a separate human verification and approval process before any eligible memory links can be issued.

What happens when Individual Annual ends?

Individual Annual is $99 charged upfront for one year and auto-renews unless cancelled. Access to the vault and core features lasts only while the annual subscription is active. If it expires, Vestige provides a complete export window under the applicable retention policy before the account is frozen.

Does Individual Annual include Lifetime Access?

Accepted Answer

No. Individual Annual is a one-vault core membership and does not qualify for Lifetime Access. Lifetime Access is granted only after a verified $999 one-time purchase made by a qualifying active monthly member.
